Welcome to Rungsted Icehockey Clubs international homepage

Rungsted Icehockey Club is one of the top hockey organizations in the Copenhagen area. We are an old club – founded in 1941 – with strong traditions. We are the “farmer” club for Elite-Series team Nordsjælland Cobras.

We are inviting foreigners to join our club and ‘ice-hockey family’ for a shorter or longer period of time. If you are moving to Denmark or staying in Denmark, and share our passion for the game, please contact us, and we will arrange an informal meeting and a try-out practice and hopefully you will join us.

Our philosophy is that we make room for all players at all levels: Icehockey can be played for fun, but at the same time we provide a challenging environment for those who want to be very focused and serious with their game. When the players are 14 years, we are setting our goals for ‘metal’ in the national championships.

This season RIK joined the Canadian “Good Sport” program, as the first club outside Canada. The program is designed to ensure proper behaviour in our ‘hockey family’, and is describing the expected behaviour by parents, referees, coaches and players.

In the past years we have had players from America and Canada playing here for 1-2-3 seasons. These children have felt welcome here, and have enjoyed and developed their game. RIK players and parents were pleased with the cultural exchange, which benefited both parties. Everyone was sad to sad to say good-bye, as expats returned to their homelands or travelled on to new countries.

We can provide the necessary support for those newcomers that do not speak Danish, on the ice and off , insuring that the children will be integrated with the team. Several of the J7, J9 and J11 players have English speaking parents, and from J13 and up most of the children can speak some English.

RIK is situated in Hørsholm / Rungsted in the northern part of Copenhagen. Most foreigners reside in the northern part of Copenhagen, with in a radius of 15 kilometres. Hørsholm International School is less than 10 minutes away from the arena.

We have teams for the following ages:

Junior 7-9:
For players born in the year 2002 and younger.

Junior 11:
For players born between 2000 - 2001.

Junior 13:
For players born between 1998 - 1999.

Junior 15:
For players from 1996 - 1997.

Junior 17:
For players from 1994 - 1995.

Junior 20:
For players from 1990 - 1993.

1st. Division:
For elite players from 1995 and older.
